School/University Partnerships (SUP) works with school districts and elementary, middle and high schools to increase access to the University of California and other colleges and universities for students who have not traditionally been eligible for UC or CSU.

SUP activities are directed toward the following goals to:

  • work with schools, families, and communities to create and foster a college going culture to help students meet their academic potential;
  • make available the vast resources of UC Berkeley to the  K-14 community to further student academic achievement;
  • apply the University’s educational research to the everyday needs of teaches, families and communities;
  • provide teacher professional development on strategies and resources for raising student expectations;
  • support schools with evaluation tools that will help them make the most of their resources; and
  • make a measurable difference in student achievement with strategic, sustained academic support.

SUP has been instrumental in the development and dissemination of college going materials such as: the Realizing the College Dream curriculum, Fast Forward to College Newsletter, professional development workshops for teachers, and standards-based curriculum using college going as the theme.
