The Neighborhoods Vision Project ()

Purpose: The Neighborhoods Vision Project envisions harmonious American cities where neighbors living in diverse neighborhoods serve each other by helping out one another. To achieve this vision, our team would like to organize a sustainable community service project through which neighbors living in various San Francisco neighborhoods come together to work on community service projects within each others' neighborhoods. The purpose of the project is to construct and develop peaceful, long-lasting, collaborative relationships among diverse neighbors living in different neighborhoods who usually do not come together. Through this process, we will explore proactive ways to tackle racism and to bridge the racial divisions in our American society that hinder positive relationships.

Theory ()

Purpose: Science is exciting. Unfortunately, it’s all too often presented in a bland and incomprehensible manner. That’s where Theory hopes to change things. We’re a magazine dedicated to reporting on scientific breakthroughs at Berkeley in an engaging, easily accessible, and highly enjoyable manner (think Popular Science with a focus on Berkeley). Theory is currently looking to fill openings for writers, graphic designers, and editors. No prior journalism experience is necessary: just an interest in science and a desire to share Berkeley science with the campus at large.

Undergraduate Scientist Association at Berkeley (UGSA)

Purpose: UGSA seeks to bring together the undergraduate scientific community through social, academic, service, and pre-professional events. We believe that in the short term, this would enrich the college experience for all science-majors, exposing them to friends with a diverse set of scientific interests. In the long-term, this will set up an inter-disciplinary mentality, so necessary to tackle the pressing scientific problems of the future. Secondly, UGSA seeks to set up an environment wherein students can help other students. Being a science major at a huge public institution can be quite daunting, as there are tons of other students within the same major and limited resources to provide guidance. To this end, we seek to set up an organizational structure that will allow students to help each other find research opportunities and get academic/career-related guidance, both formally and informally.
