Informal Resolution

Students charged with Code violations may choose to resolve their cases either informally through meetings with the Office of Student Conduct (OSC) staff or formally through the hearing process. The conduct officer will propose a resolution in the form of an administrative disposition. The student will have the opportunity to review the proposed resolution. If the student does not agree with the terms of the resolution, the student may make a counter proposal to OSC. If OSC and the student reach a mutually acceptable agreement regarding sanctions, no hearing will be held. By accepting the informal resolution, a student waives his or her rights to a hearing and any further appeal. If the student and OSC are not able to reach an agreement on either the facts of the case or the proposed outcome, the matter will proceed to a hearing.
