Charges

After completing a thorough investigation, the conduct officer will decide if there is enough evidence to support official charges based on preponderance of evidence. One of three actions will be taken:

a.)    Insufficient Evidence: Charges against the student will not be pursued and the case dropped.

b.)    Notification: Instead of pursuing charges against a student, the Office of Student Conduct may issue a written notification to a student that his or her alleged behavior may have violated University policy, campus regulations or the Code and that, if repeated such behavior will be subject to the disciplinary process.

c.)   Charged: If the investigation yields evidence of a Code violation, a charge letter will be issued and mailed to the student via certified regular mail.
