Join student-led groups of 10-15 over a winter or spring break to learn about social issues affecting communities in the Kumeyaay Reservation, Central Valley, San Diego-Mexico border and New Orleans.

BUILD (Bears United in Literacy Development)

Join over 200 Cal students who are trained and paid to serve as literacy tutors for K-8 youth at 16 local schools during the summer and/or academic year. (Paid positions are for work-study eligible students only).

Serve as a student leader of one of Cal Corps' programs or as a Volunteer Manager at a local community organization. Bonner Leaders receive $1500 for 300 hours of service and intensive leadership development training.

Assist teachers with lessons in ecology, horticulture, and nutrition for K-3 youth in the school garden.
