Program Description
Cal in the Capital (CITC) is a student-managed internship program housed at the Cal Corps Public Service Center. Founded in 1965, CITC prepares over 75 UC Berkeley students for challenging summer internships in Washington, DC, each year.
To date, over 2,170 CITC interns have provided 784,000 hours of service, impacting all areas of government and many non-governmental organizations. Cal in the Capital interns are in demand across Washington, D.C., in think tanks, government agencies, research institutions and more.

Requirements
Potential interns must be currently enrolled UCB students. Interns are required to take a 2-credit spring-semester DE-Cal seminar while applying to internships. Internships are in Summer 2010, from June to mid-August. Seminars are 2 hours each week from January-May, and internships are full-time during the summer.
Potential intern sites are public-service driven, including government departments, agencies and organizations; non-profit organizations; think tanks; Congressional offices and committees; research agencies; and cultural institutions.
