Magnolia Project
Summer Internship Program in New Orleans
Student applicant recruitment will begin in fall 2009 for the summer 2010 program.
The Cal Corps Public Service Center invites students to apply to be a Magnolia Project Summer Intern. For summer 2010 we seek to place 10 undergraduate interns in 8-week, stipended ($1,500) internships in New Orleans.
Cal Corps recruits agencies and posts their internship opportunities in one place, allowing you to apply to several positions with one application. Student interns are required to:
-
Work full time for at least 8 weeks during the summer
-
Complete a community-based research project focusing on policy affecting the rebuilding process
-
Attend pre-trip meetings and weekly summer educational and reflection sessions.
Benefits to Student Interns
- A sense of accomplishment in helping New Orleans continue its rebuilding efforts
- Stipended opportunities within the nonprofit sector in a number of issue areas
- Gain specific, transferable professional skills
- Optional: enroll in summer session and earn units while interning in New Orleans
