About Cal Corps
Director's Welcome
Welcome to the Cal Corps Public Service Center website. Here you will find information on how to be a leader in the community - whether you want to volunteer once in a while, work with a student group, apply for a fellowship, take a service-learning class, or get paid to address important social issues.
We are here to connect you with the many Cal programs that serve the community, develop your leadership skills, and/or support you in running high-quality service projects. Cal Corps is expanding rapidly, so keep checking in with us to keep up to date on new exciting programs like Cal in the Capital (an internship program) or the BUILD Literacy tutoring program which is our largest K-12 outreach program. You will find a lot of additional resources in our student programs office (505 Eshleman Hall) so be sure to come by.
I encourage you to get involved in your community. Not only does the community need you to use your skills, energy and time to help address social issues, but you will also benefit from your service experiences. Involvement in service projects, especially service-learning projects that have an educational component, have been shown to develop interpersonal and professional skills, and can help you learn to apply your academic skills in the "real world". Getting involved is also fun, important and often life-changing. We also offer scholarships, units, hourly wages and mini-grants for many of our programs.
Cal Corps is here to for you, so if you have thoughts on how to improve our programs please come talk with us. To keep up with what's going on at Cal Corps, sign-up for our e-newsletter.
