Giving to CAL CORPS

Alumni and Friends Newsletter Fall 2008

Thank you for your interest in supporting Cal Corps! The Cal Corps Public Service Center provides leadership development and public service opportunities for thousands of students each year. Through student groups, individual volunteer placements, paid positions, workshops, and many other programs and resources, Cal Corps is the campus leader in promoting the University's mission of public service, supporting the personal and educational development of each student with whom we work. Our programs and services would not be possible without the continued work and generous financial support of our on and off-campus partners, program alumni, students and parents, and generous benefactors.Your continued financial support will allow us to continue providing top-quality opportunities for student leaders. Your unrestricted support will help us make public service education a part of every student's Berkeley education. And every gift counts, regardless of its size.

There are many ways you can donate:

1. Make an on-line Donation

Your financial support will allow us to support the diverse corps of student leaders who design and coordinate all of the programs at Cal Corps. We are committed to providing outstanding leadership training opportunities for these students, providing them with necessary tools to effectively carry out their programs, and making a commitment to service not come at the expense of working to support oneself.

  • Your gift of $1500 funds the costs of our annual kick-off retreat for over 80 student leaders

Support for our Programs
Berkeley students are strongly committed to making a difference in the lives of K-12 students through working in schools, providing tutoring and mentoring for students, and impacting educational policy. • Your gift of $20 provides four books for our homework help program at the James Kenney Recreational Center.

Advancing Community Programs
Currently, over 3000 students are involved in Cal Corps programs on the UC Berkeley campus. Your financial support will allow us to offer more opportunities for students to get involved in community service, support student groups doing excellent community service, and develop stronger partnerships with local nonprofit agencies.

  • Your gift of $6947.16 funds two student peer advisors for our sponsored student groups.
