Reply to your offer of admission by May 1. - Due May 1: SIR Fee Payment
The Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) fee is a $100 nonrefundable deposit necessary to reserve your space at UC Berkeley. This fee will be credited to your first semester tuition. - Due May 1: Conditions of Admission
Review your Conditions of Admission. - Due ASAP: Fall Program for Freshmen
As a student admitted for spring 2014, you are eligible for a special fall opportunity through Fall Program for Freshmen. FPF registration opens on April 22. You must submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) to UC Berkeley before you can register for FPF. Please note that this program has limited space and fills very quickly. To learn more about the program, visit the Fall Program for Freshman website. - Due ASAP: Berkeley Identification (CalNet ID)
Your CalNet ID is your PERMANENT ID, which you will use to access Berkeley online systems while you attend Berkeley and as an alum. - Due May 1: Statement of Legal Residence (SLR)
To determine residency, all students are required to submit the Statement of Legal Residence (SLR) by May 1; Freshmen, June 1; Transfers, otherwise, the student will be charged an additional $12,000 (subject to change) per semester. The SLR typically takes less than 20 minutes to complete and requires parental information. This information will be used by the University to keep your parents informed and to invite them to participate in Berkeley events and programs. - Due May 8: Entry Level Writing Requirement
Review ways to satisfy the University's Entry Level Writing Requirement. (NOTE: We will not post specific test scores in myBerkeleyApplication. However, when UC Berkeley receives test results in mid-June, you will see a new message on your Home Page indicating whether or not you have satisfied the Entry Level Writing Requirement with an adequate score.) - Due Jul 15: Official Transcripts/Records Required
Use this link to view the transcripts we have received. You must submit all of your final, official documents by July 15. Review your Conditions of Admission for a description of your required documents. Please read your Conditions of Admission and the Admitted Students FAQs carefully to ensure you understand your next steps. If you still have questions, refer to your home page in myBerkeleyApplication for the contact information of your admission officer. - Due Jul 15: AP/IB Exam Scores
AP Exams: Confirm that all AP exam scores of 3 or higher have been sent to UC Berkeley. NOTE: In July we receive and post results of AP exams taken in May. Results of AP exams taken in PRIOR years may be posted as early as June. IB Exams: Confirm that all IB exam scores of 5 or higher have been sent to UC Berkeley. NOTE: We do not post IB scores here. If we do not receive your IB scores, you will receive a "Missing Admissions Documents" notice on your checklist (mid-July to early August). - Due Jun 15: Electronic Funds Transfer
You are urged to sign up for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) as soon as possible, especially if you receive financial aid. The Campus Accounts Receivable System (CARS) will send any refunds via EFT directly to your account. You can set up EFT 7 days after you pay the SIR fee. You are guaranteed campus housing for one year, as long as you apply by the deadline. Housing is not guaranteed your first semester on campus but is likely. Use the College of Letters and Science web-based advising tool to prepare you to enroll in courses for your first semester. Complete the tutorial prior to your Tele-BEARS enrollment session and your in-person session with an Academic Adviser. - Due Oct 15: Cal Student Orientation (CalSO)
Get academic advising, sign up for classes, learn about campus resources, student life and make friends. All new undergraduates will receive their Phase I Tele-BEARS appointment information and Adviser Codes at orientation. Programs fill up quickly, so register early! If you will not attend orientation, notify CalSO via the "I can't attend CalSO" link by October 15, to ensure you receive timely enrollment information. Each UC Berkeley Student is required to have a campus e-mail and calendar (bConnected) account. Official correspondence from faculty and the University will be sent to your @berkeley.edu address. If you have not already done so, set up your e-Bill profile to view your CARS e-Bill statement online in BearFacts. Registration fees were itemized on your December CARS e-Bill statement, and if not paid, are due. Questions? The campus must collect contact information (including cell phone numbers) for all students to be used in the event of a campus emergency. Please log onto Bear Facts for Students, go to "Personal, WarnMe Contacts", and provide the information that authorized campus officials can use to alert you in the unlikely event of an emergency. This information will be used for emergency purposes only. - Due Jan 17: Cal 1 Card (Photo ID)
The Cal 1 Card is your official campus ID (i.e. photo ID) and it provides access to many goods and services. One of the most widely used Cal 1 Card features is the free debit account which allows for the card to be pre-loaded with stored value credit that can then be used to make cash-free purchases (e.g. food, books, and services) at 70+ merchant locations both on and off-campus.
