IAP Eligibility and Application Instructions
- Graduating senior in attendance at an IAP partner high school during Junior and Senior years.
- Minimum 3.5 unweighted UC GPA.
- Meet financial eligibility guidelines.
- Meet minimum UC admission requirements and apply to UC Berkeley.
- Must be a US citizen, resident, or eligible non-citizen at time of application.
- Demonstration of strong leadership at home, the community or at school, and commitment to community service.
NOTE: Only for final nominees from each high school Deadline: Monday, November 30, 2009
The application will be available in October once the 5 nominees have been selected. Please check with your High School Coordinator for your high school's internal deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Please do not staple pages.
Deadline: Monday, November 30, 2009 (with Nominee Application)
In addition to the IAP Nominee Application, the final nominees must apply separately to the University of California, Berkeley. Note that the deadline to submit your UC application is also Monday, November 30, 2009. At this time, you should also apply to all the UC's you are interested in, not just UC Berkeley. The application filing period is from November 1-30, 2009. To apply on-line visit http://http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/.
Deadline: December 2009
Students must take the following required exams by December 2009 to be eligible for UC admission:
- SAT Reasoning Test OR
- ACT Assessment plus Writing
AND
- Two (2) SAT Subject Tests in two different areas.

Deadline: Monday, February 1, 2010
Submit a copy of your Fall semester grades by submitting the 7th Semester Grade Report to the IAP office.
Deadline: Friday, February 19, 2010
Submit a copy of the 2010-2011 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by Friday, February 19, 2010 to the IAP office. To fill out the FAFSA application visit www.fafsa.ed.gov/. Note that this deadline is earlier than the March 2 deadline required by other FAFSA applicants. List the University of California, Berkeley (Title IV Code: 001312) as a college to which a report should be sent.
If selected as a scholarship Recipient, IAP may retract the scholarship if it determines that there is missing or incorrect financial information in the Preliminary Form, Nominee Application or FAFSA.
All Scholars are required to adhere to UC Berkeley and IAP Student Conduct Policy. Any violation of the Student Conduct Policy may result in the revocation of the IAP Scholarship.
