The Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship awarded by the University of California, Berkeley, to entering undergraduates.
The prestige of the Regents’ and Chancellor's Scholarship begins with the initial honor of being chosen for the award and lauded at the Chancellor’s residence at a fall reception. Further networking with faculty and fellow scholars throughout your academic career at Berkeley results in lifelong beneficial associations.
While at Berkeley, recent Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholars served in such notable positions as Student Regent on the University of California Board of Regents, ASUC President, and Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Californian. Scholars have been chosen as University Medalist, and have earned such prestigious awards as the Truman Scholarship and the Marshall Scholarship.
The Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarship should be just one of the many forms of acknowledgement you receive during your tenure as an RC Scholar. The more recognitions you accrue, the larger your networking circle will be and the better your chances will be for graduate-level education and an outstanding future.
Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarships are renewable each year, up to a maximum of 8 semesters for incoming freshman and a maximum of 4 semesters for incoming junior transfer students.
Your financial aid file must be complete in order for the Regents' and Chancellor’s Scholarship award to be applied automatically to your CARS (Campus Accounts Receivable System) account. You can keep abreast of changes to your CARS account via Bear Facts.
