Applying for Financial Aid

The UC Berkeley Federal School code is 001312. For academic year 2009-10 the FAFSA application deadline was March 2, 2009.

All undergraduate students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Complete an online application at www.fafsa.ed.gov

Parent information is required on the FAFSA for all dependent students. Parents also will need to get a PIN number from the Federal Student Aid PIN site. This PIN will serve as an alectronic signature. Only one parent needs to get a PIN for the FAFSA.

The undergraduate application deadline is always March 2. Campus-based financial aid may be limited for students who file the FAFSA after the March 2 deadline.

California undergraduate students must also complete a GPA Verification Form by March 2 for Cal Grant consideration. The Cal Grant is administered by the California Student Aid Commission. Please visit their website for more information.

Transfer Students applying for Fall 2009 who filled out a 2008-20098 FAFSA should complete a 20098-10 FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
