Financial Aid Calendar 2012-13
July 2012
- Early July: Check your housing status (on-campus, off-campus, living with relatives) on MyFinAid to make sure it is accurate; if not, use the Update My Information link in the left column of MyFinAid to correct it
- Late July: Fees are assessed and first Campus Accounts Receivable System (CARS) statement for fall semester is delivered
- Late July: Departmental awards for 2012-13 are applied to students' CARS accounts beginning in late July
August 2012
- August 9: Last morning to apply for an Emergency Loan for Summer Sessions 2012
- August 10: Summer Sessions 2012 end
- August 13: Financial aid is applied to eligible students' CARS accounts beginning 10 days before classes start
- August 15: Fall semester fees are due
- August 17 & 18: Move-in days at the residence halls
- August 23: First day of instruction
- Late August: Undergraduate and Graduate Budget Appeal Forms are available
September 2012
- September 7: Fall semester deadline to submit a Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal
- Late September: Enrollment review; eligible students must be enrolled full-time or lose all or part of their Pell Grant or Cal Grant
October 2012
- October 1: Parent Contribution Appeal Form deadline for fall-only students
- October 1: Student Contribution Appeal Form deadline for fall-only students
- October 30: Last day to complete the loan process for Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loans for fall-only students
November 2012
- November 30: Classes end
- November 30: Last day to complete the loan process for Federal Direct Loans for fall-only students
December 2012
- December 10: Budget Appeal deadline for fall-only students
- December 13: Last morning to apply for an Emergency Loan for fall semester
- December 14: Fall semester ends
- Mid December: Fees are assessed and first CARS statement for spring semester is delivered
January 2013
- January 1: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2013-14 academic year is available
- January 1: For AB 540-eligible students, the California Dream Act Application for the 2013-14 academic year is available; apply to receive a Dream Act award for 2013-14
- January 15: Spring semester fees are due
- January 22: First day of instruction
February 2013
- February 1: Spring semester deadline to submit a Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal
- February 1: Parent Contribution Appeal Form deadline for fall/spring and spring-only students
- February 1: Student Contribution Appeal Form deadline for fall/spring and spring-only students
- February 14: Summer Sessions students can view their financial aid offers on MyFinAid
- Late February: Enrollment review; eligible students must be enrolled full-time or lose all or part of their Pell Grant or Cal Grant
March 2013
- March 2: File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by this on-time deadline for the upcoming 2013-14 academic year; completion of the FAFSA is required for all financial aid programs for both entering and continuing students
- March 2: Cal Grant GPA Verification Form due (California residents only) for the upcoming 2013-14 academic year
- March 15: Last day to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current 2012-13 academic year
- Late March: Freshmen students entering in the fall semester can view their financial aid offers on MyFinAid
- March 30: Last day to complete the loan process for Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loans for fall/spring and spring-only students
- March 30: Deadline to submit 2012-13 Verification Forms
April 2013
- April 20: Cal Day
- April 30: Last day to complete the loan process for Federal Direct Loans for fall/spring or spring-only semesters
May 2013
- May 1: Freshmen students entering in the fall semester submit their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR)
- May 1: Budget Appeal deadline for fall/spring or spring-only students
- Transfer students entering in the fall semester can view their financial aid offers on MyFinAid
- May 3: Classes end
- May 17: Last day to apply for an Emergency Loan for spring semester
- May 17: Spring semester ends
- May 28: Summer Sessions 2013 begin
June 2013
- June 1: Transfer students entering in the fall semester submit their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR)
