2009-2010 Financial Aid Award Guide

The Graduate and Professional Unit (GPU) of the Financial Aid Office administers the Federal Direct Student Loans for U.C. Berkeley graduate students as well as several smaller federal loan programs, the Federal Work Study Program and the U.C. Parent Grant Program.

The Boalt School of Law and the Haas School of Business have their own financial aid offices. Law and Business students should contact their respective office for information.

The Financial Aid Office does not administer Fellowships, Teaching and Research appointments, or departmental aid. Please contact your academic department or go to the Graduate Division's website for information about these types of awards.

Electronic Funds Transfer
We encourage all students to consider signing up for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to receive your CARS refunds and student aid Payments securely, conveniently and quickly as possible. EFT deposits your refunds directly into a designated checking or savings account, eliminating the risk of a lost or stolen refund check. To sign up for EFT, go to http://eftstudent.berkeley.edu.
